Wine Review: 2010 DRB Montee de Tonnerre Premier Cru Chablis

The Bouchard family has been producing top quality wines for 5 generation. Brothers Romain and Damien Bouchard joined forces in 2010 to create DRB - an exclusive range of high end, single vineyard wines from the best vineyard sites in Chablis. The Bouchard brothers draw on the experience and knowledge of 50+ years of dedicated vinegrowers to produce highly rated, terroir driven wines. 2010 DRB Montee de Tonnerre Premier Cru Chablis shows subtle citrus and floral notes on the nose accompanied by layers of rich, ripe Chardonnay fruit on the palate. It is a pure expression of Montee de Tonnerre, with graceful acidity and nice minerality.

This breathtaking Chablis is a great wine to share with friends and family. Codey and I first had 2010 DRB Montee de Tonnerre Premier Cru Chablis at Barcelona in South Norwalk. We enjoyed a bottle with friends and a few tapas on a laid back, Sunday afternoon. We were delighted to find the wine was available to us through one of our distributors and could not resist bringing it in the store.

2010 DRB Montee de Tonnerre Premier Cru Chablis is 100% organic. The Bouchard brothers value "green" methods of farming and in 2010 received organic certification from ECOCERT, one of the largest organic certification organizations in the world.

This exceptional Premier Cru Chablis was rated 91 Points by Allen Meadows, publisher of the Burghound.com quarterly newsletter and website. "The nose immediately announces that this could be nothing other than Chablis as the softly citrus and floral nose carries notes of oyster shell and sea breeze. There is good richness and punch to the round, delicious and attractively fleshy middle weight flavors that possess good detail and length. This for is really quite good with fine intensity, depth and persistence." ~(Allen Meadows, Burghound)
