Best Wines For Fall: Warming Reds and Cool Weather Whites

Absolutely Stunning: This single vineyard La Broia is a 100% Garganega wine. The vines are 12 years old and the wine spends 12 months in 1 year used Slavonian casks. The result is a wine with depth and complexity. The aromas are layered with notes of fine white flowers, peach and apricot combined with a spicy mineral profile. An intense elegant finish is absolutely stunning. Try it with lobster bisque, fish risotto, rabbit or chicken.

Mitch's Pick: 2012 Von Winning Deidesheimer Paradiesgarten Riesling Trocken
Enticing and Expressive: This Riesling is absolutely astonshing! I mean "Wow"! Incredibly enticing bouquet and explosively expressive flavors on the palate. Perfectly balanced and insanely attractive. This estate is crafting some of the very best dry wines in Germany due to the nearly obsessive winemaker Stefan Attman's commitment to both dedicated cultivation of the best vineyard sites and meticulous work in the cellar.

Codey's Pick: 2012 Mckinlay Vineyards Pinot Noir Willamette Valley
A Superb Oregon Pinot Noir: McKinlay Vineyards has always one of our favorite Pinot producers. Winemaker Matt Kinne flys under the radar keeping a low profile, yet his wines are refined and complex. His style has bright, rich fruit (without being overly powerful or sweet), contains lower alcohol and lively acidity. His wines are super deals and the 2012 is a perfect balance of cherry pie fruit, spice, and hints of earthy smokiness.

Eddie's Pick: 2010 Chateau La Vieille Cure Fronsac
92 Points Wine Spectator: "This takes a modern approach, with a noticeable dose of dark, roasted espresso and chocolate up front, but remains grounded in the appellation's textbook racy chalk and charcoal profile. The core of lush fig, plum and blackberry fruit sits in reserve, and the finish is polished and long. Impressive. Best from 2015 through 2025."
