Budget Friendly Wines: 9 Under $9

These wallet-friendly wines deliver excellent quality at prices that won't break the bank. From French Rosé to South African Cabernet this section offers a little bit of everything. The superb 15th century Chateau de Poce is set in magnificent grounds on the bank of limestone banks of the Loire. This is truly a family run estate by Pierre Chainier and his wife Anne along with their three sons. The wines are all terroir driven and cultivated by the principles of sustainable agriculture. This is a delicious crisp Sauvignon Blanc with bright citrus aromas and flavors. Subtle, delicate, and extremely refreshing on the palate. Excellent as an apertif or paired with fish or poultry.
  
Bodegas del Aguila is located in Carinena in northern Spain between Madrid and Barcelona with wine tradtiion that dates back to Phoenician and Roman times. Dry sunny days coupled with a higher altitude help create this well-concentrated and flavorful white wine made 90% from local Viura grape with 10% Chardonnay. A fresh bouquet of tropical fruit and wild flowers abound. It has a lovely finish that pairs well with fish, chicken and mildly spicy cuisine. 

 This is a tasty Spanish blend of Tempranillo, Grenache, and Syrah grapes harvested from age-old vines in high-altitude vineyards due south of the Pyrenees.It spends 3 months in oak barrels. It is full of character with ripe blackberry, blueberry, and floral aromas. Intense fruit on the palate that is smooth and scrumptious followed by a hint of pepper. A sweet and savory slurp that is great on its own or as an accompaniment to red meat and hearty food.

The 250 vinyeard acres of Chateau de l'Escarelle are set amongs fields of lavendar and thyme on terraced limestone hills of the Var in Provence. Exceptional Mediterranean climate and sunshine is perfect for ripening the Grenache, Syrah, and Cinsault grapes for their rose which is fruity and rich with great elegance and finesse. Beautiful aromas and flavors of cherries and strawberries give way to hints of citrus and Provencal floral/herb tones. A refreshing dry rose wine that goes well with salad nicoise, cured meats, and olive tapenade.

 The Giordano Cascina estate is located just outside the village of Gavi a region in Northwest Italy next to Piedmont and Liguria. The vineyard is biodynamically farmed and the white grapes grown are the indigenous Cortese. The winemaking is traditional focusing on purity of fruit and true regional character. This is a pretty wine with beautiful fragrances and refreshing flavors of lemon, pear, and melon that are true to the Gavi terroir. A strikng wine for the price!

Nestled within the Polkadraai Hills of the world renowned Stellenbosch wine region, Beau Joubert's viticultural history dates back to 1695. The Joubert family brought old world winemaking tradition to the area and today they continue their dedication to excellence in tradtional winemaking techniques.Oak Lane Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon blend is a Bordeaux style with 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet oak matured with flavorful and juicy notes of black plum, cassis and savory herbs that emphasize the terroir. The finish is clean and lively and the palate is soft and balanced. A great compliment to barbecue, pizza, and more.
