Well Refrigerated Friend

few emails back I explained the benefits from having a well cellared
friend (a generous and sharing buddy with a wine cellar chock full of
treasures). This week I benefited from a well refrigerated friend
(pretty sure you can figure out the definition based on the pictures above)
Why Was Susan So Lazy!?!
This is what I gave Deb (my wife) for mother's day. A cool lazy-susan made from the head of a Burgundy barrel.

More Beer
With that little heat wave we just experienced my beer brain was requesting tasty Summer-esque brews. Luckily Julia has been loading the cooler up with the latest releases. A- Stone Creek (brewed in Branford Ct!) "Sun Juice" Belgian styled Spiced Ale.... I need not drink Hoegaarden anymore. B-Uinta Sum-R Ale... uber light clean and crisp... great hot afternoon brew C- (from the first pic in this email) Back East Summer Ale... an actually Summer beer with a good chunk of hop tonality....

We'll be tasting through these barrel sample bourbons to pick the perfect barrel to buy and bottle all for ourselves (some for you all as well) Stay tuned!
'Tis The Season (2)
Rose of the week. '14 Lioco Indica Mendocino Rose. Super slurpable... made from 100% from 65 year old, dry farmed Carignan. Lovely floral nose with strawberry fruit notes on the palate. I think this bottle was defective though.... the next thing I knew it was empty.... I suspect a hairline crack. (Yes, that is Alex photo-bombing)
Vins De Soif?Big thank you all everyone that joined us for our "Vins de Soif" tasting Thursday night.
