Wine Review: 2010 Ghost Block Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon

Ghost Block is a winery that specializes in single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc. All of the vineyards are family owned (dating back 110 years) and organically certified. Production is very limited and family pride is one of the ingredients that make this wine special. The fruit for the 2010 Ghost Block Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the Rock Cairn vineyard (28-year-old vineyard in Oakville, Napa Valley that is 100% Certified Organic). The site is comprised of deep, gravelly loam with a western exposure, and the vines produce very concentrated fruit late in the season. It is 100% Cabernet and it was aged 24 months in French oak, 60% new. The result is a wine that is finesse oriented with an elegant balance and structure.

92 Points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Ghost Block Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon is a plump, radiant wine graced with exquisite red fruit flowers, spices and minerals. It reveals gorgeous fleshiness all the way through to the finish. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2025." ~(Wine Advocate)
