New Brews!Julia has been hard at work tasting new beers and expanding our offerings.
Here are some of the "highlights" I've had the chance to sample myself:
1 - Anchor Brewing "Double Liberty" IPA
"Imperial IPA.... 8.2% ABV... super balanced... ultra quaffable."
2 - Ballast Point Grapefruit Sculpin
"American IPA... 7% ABV.... not sure I need the grapefruit but every bit as enjoyable as the original Sculpin."
3 - Anchor Brewing "Brotherhood" Steam
"Steam Beer.... 5.6% ABV.... a cool collaboration with musician Chris Robinson (Black Crows).... flavorful session lager."
4 - Fishers Island Lemonade
"Ok, I haven't tried this one yet.... a spiked lemonade that is spiked with real vodka and whiskey.... my buddy Shane was drinking one at the LP so I snapped the picture.... we should have it in by the weekend... I trust Shane's taste."

Newly Organized Value Wine Wall
Value wine doesn't have to come in a jug. Holly has been busy finding delicious value wines in smaller formats. The wall that used to be completely large format (1.5ltr) now has some wonderful 750ml size wines as well.

"Lovely white from northern Italy... a full body white that is still light in the mouth"
NV Lini 910 'Labrusca' Lambrusco Rosato
"Crazy good! Full of ripe fruit but not sweet.... the bottle seemed to evaporate."

"The baby PG from a prestigious winery... medium bodied with lovely citrus notes."
NV Laxas Sensum Sparkling Albarino Cava
"I can't afford to drink Champagne as much as I'd like to... this was a great value replacement."

We ordered our second private blend of bourbon. The picture above gives a solid hint as to who the distiller is. When it arrives (in about 8 weeks) we'll offer it exclusively via email. A Snapshot Of Rose
Last week we held our Grand Dame Rose tasting at our Annex location.
The highlight was tasting the '12 Tempier vs the '14. The '12 turned out to be the favorite of the night, proving the a great rose can get even better with a little time in the bottle.
This coming week (June 18th) we have our Saison Beer Tasting w/Julia

Book Wine
Our little Emma has been ferociously reading every wine book that we put in her hands. Her latest read was "What Is Biodynamic Wine?" by Nicolas Joly.... to add to the experience we just happened to have one of Mr Joly's wines in our tasting machine in Ridgefield for her to try. I'm pretty sure she liked the wine better than the book.
