Beer 365 #220 Victory Yakima Twilight Ale

Beer 365 #220, originally uploaded by mitchancona.

Beer 365- #220 Victory Yakima Twilight Ale
Pours orangish brown with nice off white head. Nose has more malt than I expected, floral/citrus hop tones float around as well. Mouth feel is heavier than medium with slinky bubbles, very drinkable. Flavors are more aggressive than the nose was. The hops shine through, citrus/pine/floral with the malt supporting. Nice beer! (8.7% ABV)

Beer 365 #203 Southampton Cuvee des Fleurs
This could very well be one of my all time favorite beers. This saison/farmhouse ale flavored with edible flowers is absolutely delicious. Pours a brilliant golden straw color with ample clingy white head. The mouth is light and active. The nose is one of the intricate that I have ever smelled. Along with the expected floral notes there were also hints of orange, hay, leather, lemon and good old funk. In the mouth those wonderful aromas turn into flavors that all mingle nicely with a subtle sourness. AWESOME! (7.7% ABV)

Beer 365- #177 Sierra Nevada Estate*
Pours a nice amber color with clingy, chunky dirty white head. Nose is clean and fresh with pine, citrus hops up front. The malt is there, but well hidden. The mouth is medium in body and has a really nice creaminess to it. The carbonation is just right. Flavors are present but not aggressive. Very well integrated complex hop notes up front (pineapple, citrus, pine) the malt isn't all that noticable but you know it's there, it shows the most near the finish as it fades leaving a nice bitter finish. Very Good! (6.7% ABV)

*Estate Ale is one of the world’s only estate-made beers, brewed with 100% all-natural, hops and barley grown on-site at the brewery in Chico, CA.

Pours a golden/orange with clingy white head. The nose is all hops, floral, spicy, pine, citrus, very complex. Mouth is medium weight with subtle bubbles. Flavor is powerful but not overpowering. Pours a hazy copper color with thick white head. Nice full nose that pairs sweet earth driven malt with citrus/leafy hops. Mouth is big, dense and coating with adequate bubbles.
Flavors are intricate but very approachable. Resiny pine hops meld with caramel malt, notes of citrus, mint, honey, biscuit. This is a easy to drink (note the empty glass) DIPA that I wish I could find more of. (9% ABV)

Beer 365 #129 Rodenbach Grand Cru

Beer 365 #129, originally uploaded by mitchancona.

Beer 365 #129 Rodenbach Grand Cru

Pours a dark brown with slight red hints, wispy tan head. Heavy nose of bing cherries, balsamic vinegar, wood. Nice still mouth that is medium in body. Well balanced (better than the younger Rodenbach.) The increased percentage of older barrel aged beer counters the tart/sour flavors of the younger. Very complex but subtle flavors that include, but are not limited to: sour cherries, balsamic vinegar, wood, chocolate, cinnamon. This is a fantastic sipper if you can handle the flavor profile. (6% ABV)

Pours a a dark mahogany with glints of red and a nicely formed tan head. Really pleasant aromas of roasted malt, chocolate, cherry... smells a little like a Cadbury fruit and nut bar. Medium bodied rich, creamy mouth. Great malty flavors up front that mirror the nose, cocoa, a touch of smoke and mild fruit hops near the finish. The finish lingers in a nice way. Quite drinkable! (4.5% ABV)

I live in Ct where it has been a really mild Summer. We finally got a blast of heat. This is one of my favorite thirst quenchers. I consider it an adult alternative to soda. No need to write about "nose" or "mouth feel". Sometimes you just have to drink a cold beer on a hot night.

Found this one hidden in the back of my beer fridge

Pours a nice amber color with auburn highlights, thick creamy head. Even with a little extra bottle age this beer shows plenty of life. Nice nose of citrus hops offset by caramel maltiness. Medium bodied with plenty of life left in the carbonation. Taste follows the nose nicely. Pineapple notes up front followed quickly by nice bready malt tones, this finish is bitter but pleasant. Makes me look forward to winter. (5.1% ABV)

Beer 365 #100 Southern Tier Imperial Mokah Stout
Pours a dark syrupy brown with thin tan head. (looks a little like Jagermeister) The powerful nose is what you would expect, coffee, dark chocolate, caramel, black coffee, and hints of cherry. The mouth is thick and dense, the beer clings to the side of the glass. Very intricate flavors of dark chocolate, cherry, black coffee weave in out out. Alluring bitter dark chocolate finish makes you want to take another sip. There is a little warmth from this beer that reminds you that it is 11% ABV!!
